Autumn & Justin had a dream wedding on the California coast in Monterey and Big Sur. We traveled out to the Monterey Peninsula and stayed in the Pacific Grove / Carmel-by-the-sea area. It is seriously one of our favorite places on earth.
We met up with Autumn & Justin the day before their wedding to do a sunrise session on the Big Sur coastline. It was absolutely perfect with the foggy marine layer rolling over the mountains. The next day, their wedding day, was definitely one to remember!
They planned their ceremony on Pfeiffer Beach, which is about 45 minutes to an hour down the coast. There was construction that delayed everyone an extra 30-45 minutes. On top of that, their little bus almost tipped over trying to turn down the windy road and was turned around. The few guests who drove their own cars and random beach-goers had to shuttle everyone from the bus down the tiny 2 mile road.
After we were all on the beach, we quickly realized how insanely windy it was. We have never experienced wind that intense! Autumn lost her veil in a tree and a random guy climbed the tree to get it out. Everyone was getting pelted with sand and salt water. We found a little cove against the rock that helped protect us from a majority of the wind.
From there, everything fell into place and a beautiful wedding happened. It was such a sweet and special day and we loved being able to document it!
