Colorado Road Trip | Rocky Mountains, Denver, Colorado

In July, Devin and I flew out to Denver to start planning our wedding. We had lined up wedding venue tours in Estes Park, Telluride and Silverton. During our stay, I ended up getting really sick and even ended up in the ER twice. We ended up missing a few tours because of this, but I did my best to power through, determined to get our wedding plans underway! ;)

After we shot an elopement in Vail, we drove up to Estes Park where we saw two of the venues. The first venue tour we did was at Della Terra Mountain Chateau. It was breathtaking with incredible spaces and unbelievable rooms, but it didn't offer the privacy and intimacy we wanted with having such a large staff on board and tours the same day as your wedding.

Next, we checked out Estes Park Condos along the Fall River. The condos are laid out on a beautiful piece of land just a very short distance to Rocky Mountain National Park. They offered even more than we dreamed of having and after quite a bit of deliberation, we ended up choosing to have our wedding there!

After Estes Park, we drove through Denver to stop at A&Be Bridal to pick up supplies for a styled elopement that we shot overlooking Breckenridge. We stayed in Silverthorne / Dillon for a few days and then headed down to Telluride.  Telluride is one of our favorite areas in Colorado. The small town vibes and insane views of mountains and waterfalls just doesn't get old.

After a relaxing time in Telluride we took the long way down to Devin's family in Durango through Ouray and Silverton to look at one more venue. The venue, Eureka Lodge, blew our minds! Nestled 8 miles down a dirt road in the San Juan mountains is this historic old miners hotel. The property literally couldn't be beat as far as what we were looking for. The house has 14 rooms for overnight stays, which unfortunately didn't fit the style and comfort of what we were looking for. It was tough to decide on a venue, but we knew the Estes Park Condos was the perfect happy medium between all three venues.

Enjoy all of these beautiful images captured along the way!

Bridal Party Proposal | How We Proposed to our Bridal Party!

Bridal Party Proposal Boxes-50.jpg

Being in the wedding industry, things can sometimes be less unique for us when we're planning our own wedding. Devin and I both have the personalities to want to be different than the mainstream. However, there are some things that we can't help but do just out of pure excitement! That's what happened when it came to deciding on a bridal party.

Since we are having a destination wedding in Colorado and most of our loved ones are traveling, we tossed around the idea of not having a bridal party at all. We wanted to elope but we also wanted to share the intimate day with the ones we love. We ended up deciding to do a bridal party since all of these relationships are very important to us and we opted out of designating a best man & maid of honor. We can't wait to celebrate with them!

Here is how we asked them (including our officiant)! Basically everything besides the groomsmen alcohol was purchased on Etsy

Enjoy, xoxo
